He always wore those worn out flip-flops
Spent ours in his daddy's workshop
He loved being on the water
Fishing with his friends
He always listened to the old folks
When they'd tell stories and crack jokes
Didn't talk back to his mama
When she got on to him
Oh that's just the way he was raisedHad to finish all his chores
Before he could go outside and play
They alway's went to church
That's where he learned how to pray
And that's just the way he was raisedHe grew his hair out when he got older
Grew it clear down to his shoulders
Started hanging with the outcasts
When he went off to town
Some called him a trouble maker
Even some said a lawbreaker
No matter how they talked about him
He never put nobody down
Cause that's just the way he was raisedWhen people would start to gossip
He'd just walk away
He alway's loved is neighbor
No mater what they'd say
Oh that's just the way he was raisedOn a cross, on a hill
That longhaired boy was killed
All our sins washed away
When he walked out of that grave
Oh that's just the way he was raisedThere's no way we can measure
The sacrifice he made
He knew he had to die
For our debt to be paid
Oh that's just the way he was raisedIt took the hand of God to roll the stone away
And that's just the way he was raisedI am feeling good today, except for a little fatigue, but I am still at work. Yesterday evening I played in a scramble golf tournament, shot 2 under through 9 holes. Winning score was 4 under through 9 holes. The lyrics above are off the newest Josh Turner CD. Since being diagnosed with cancer, I have not had the stop and smell the flower's attitude, but I listen and watch for God's miracles. Josh Turner has a strong religious belief, that he brings to his music. I am not asking you to buy his CD, (wouldn't it be a statement if religiously based songs in an non-christian media [non-christian radio] sold a lot of copies.). Maybe we would have more family oriented music to listen to. Please pray for Josh Turner to keep making the music God directs him to make. I am planning on playing some customer golf tomorrow afternoon. Sunday is church, and maybe fishing or golf, will see how the weather is. If you are reading this you are blessed by God!
